While other photographers are busy keeping up with the latest photography gadgets; for Andra Alodita, camera is only a tool to express her emotion, amplify the voices of nature she listens to, and intensify the inspiration she encapsulates.
Since she was very young, Alodita has been an avid fan of anything related to arts. Dancing, painting, and drawing are included in the list of things she has tried to do. Be that as it may, she finally stumbled upon photography when she was in high school, and fell in love. It was difficult for Alodita to share her ideas through speeches and words, yet through photography, she has finally been able to communicate her ideas, thoughts, and emotions to others very well.
At first, photography was more like a hobby. In university, she majored in Visual Communication Design, and at the same time taught herself about photography. She took her camera everywhere she goes, because apparently it was one of the few things that could calm her down or even channel her anger. Subsequently, she realized photography is way much more beyond passion for her, let alone a way to earn a living. It is a medium for her to be closer to God and His creatures. Photography lets her hears the emotion of other beings too; from water to the sky, from her mother to strangers' eyes.
In 2009, Alodita got an ultimate hands-on experience in this field, and finally made her way to be a full-time photographer. Through the pictures she has taken, especially in her daily life, Alodita would like to convey the fact that anything ordinary can be beautiful, as long as we would like to open our eyes, ears, and especially mind. For Alodita, everything is mesmerizing, given that we take some time to completely appreciate it. She believes that God gave sensitivity for us to value the things we stumble upon and be grateful about them.
In the past two years, Alodita has gained a presence in the nation's photography world. She has been renowned for her soft, warm, and romantic photographs adored by many. Nevertheless, she always makes some time to blog and share a piece of her life, to let people know how beautiful "ordinary" things might be.
Some of us have to watch films or read books to be inspired. For Alodita, the most substantial inspiration comes from God and His nature, her love, her family, and her friends. That's all it takes to create flair in her alluring photographs. She has created a brand new exquisite world of her own, right from her viewfinder and lens.
Alodita is looking forward to realize more of her dreams, including publishing a collection of her works, holding a solo exhibition, and most importantly, meeting aspiring photographers to exchange ideas, knowledge, and experience. She is keen to share about her passion in photography. This blog is a way for her to start achieving that goal, for knowledge often means nothing unless it is shared.
